Candeza Line Firmware Update

This page describes everything to do with updating the device software (firmware) of Candeza Line devices.

All Cadenza Line devices can be updated using a standard SD card on which the files with the current device software are stored. The devices have a special card slot on the rear panel labelled UPDATE.

To receive an SD card with the appropriate files, you can send an email to info@MBL.de and ask for an SD card with the latest device software to be sent to you free of charge. Alternatively, you can also use your own empty SD card (see restrictions below) and download the update files here and install them on the card.

1. Determine the current firmware version in your device

(This point can be skipped if you want to perform an update in any case)

The current version number of the device software is V3.21.

To read out the software version in your devices, open the MENU item using the function button above the display and select the INFO menu item. The current version number is then shown on the display. If this version number is lower than the current version number mentioned above, we recommend updating your devices.

Please follow the next steps.

2. Create an SD card with the device software

(This point can be skipped if you already have an SD card with the latest device software.)

Take an empty standard SD card of type SD or SDHC with a maximum capacity of 32GB, formatted in FAT or FAT32 format. Download the following ZIP file and save it on your computer: cadenza_V3.21.zip

Open the ZIP file on your computer and copy the files it contains to the root directory of your SD card (e.g. using drag and drop). When the copying process is complete, remove the SD card from the SD slot of your computer and follow the next step.

Note: The downloaded ZIP file contains the update files for all Cadenza Line device types. We recommend copying these files all together to the SD card, even if you only want to update individual devices. During the update, the Cadenza Line device will automatically search for the correct file.

3. Install the latest device software

Please always update the software for all your Cadenza Line devices together so that all devices then have the identical software version.

Steps for updating:

  1. Switch off all Cadenza Line devices using the mains switch on the back of the device.
  2. Carry out the following steps for all individual Cadenza Line devices one after the other, device by device.
  3. Insert the SD card with the update files into the SD slot labelled UPDATE on the back of the device. The card must be inserted into the slot so that the metal contact surfaces are facing downwards.
  4. Switch on the corresponding device using the mains switch on the rear panel.
  5. Wait up to one minute and watch the standby button on the front of the device flash. Do not switch off the device or remove the SD card during this time!!!
  6. You can see the result of the update process from the blink codes on the standby button on the front of the device:
    • Constant flashing and then permanently lit: the update has been carried out successfully.
    • Six flashes interrupted by a short pause: the device software was already available in the same version as on the SD card.
    • Any other flashing behaviour: Update failed, either because the SD card or the update file cannot be read. In this case, please repeat the creation of the update files on the SD card (see above) and carry out this update procedure again. If the error occurs repeatedly, please contact us so that we can work on a solution.
  7. Remove the SD card from the SD slot.
  8. If the update was successful, please carry out the steps from 3. onwards for your other Cadenza Line devices as well.
  9. Once you have carried out the update for all devices, please switch all devices off and on again using the power switch on the back of the device. Your devices are now up to date.
